COMPLETION OF FUNDRAISER FOR CARGO VAN FOR LITTLE SISTERS OF THE POOR – Thank you for your generous support of the Little Sisters of the Poor! In 2016, the Father John E. Doyle Council of the Knights of Columbus undertook an effort to raise the funds needed to purchase a new cargo van for the Little Sisters of the Poor. The Sisters depend upon a reliable cargo van to collect donations of food, clothing, furniture and other items – items that are essential to the operation of Holy Family Home and the care of the home’s nearly 100 residents. The cost of a new van is in excess of $40,000.00. Through the generous response of members of the Doyle council, the parishes the Doyle council serves (Corpus Christi and St. Rose), and area Knights of Columbus councils, over $45,000.00 was raised to purchase a new cargo van. More than $15,000.00 was raised for this effort during a collection here at Corpus Christi in October, 2016. On October 6, 2017, members of the Doyle Council presented the Little Sisters of the Poor with their brand new cargo van! The Little Sisters of the Poor and the residents at Holy Family Home remember all of their benefactors – including those here at Corpus Christi – in their daily prayers. 2017 “COATS FOR KIDS” COLLECTION – The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring our Fifth Annual Coats for Kids drive to benefit the children of our sister parish, Visitation BVM, in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. The collection will be held on the weekends of October 28-29 and November 4-5, 2017 in the REC Room and Narthex of the Corpus Christi Church.
The Coats for Kids program accepts donations of winter clothing items, such as coats, hats, gloves, scarves, sweaters, etc. and distributes them to children in need. Since 2009, nationally the Knights of Columbus has distributed more than 175,000 coats to children in need throughout the United States and Canada.
We encourage you to donate any new or lightly used winter clothing items you may have to aid our efforts. In lieu of clothing, we will also be accepting cash donations, the proceeds of which will be used to purchase coats and winter garments directly for the Coats for Kids program. SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2017 PARISH BREAKFAST – Everyone is welcome to join us in the Fr. Doyle Hall on Sunday November 12, 2017 for our next Community Breakfast hosted by The Knights of Columbus from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM . Included are pancakes, waffles, scrambled eggs , Made-to-Order Omelets, hash browns, sausage, toast, orange juice, coffee, fruit, and our famous “doughnut buffet”! Cost: ONLY $8 for Adults, and $4 for Children.
NOVEMBER 24, 2017 “BLACK FRIDAY” ANNUAL PARISH BLOOD DRIVE – The council will again be sponsoring the Corpus Christi Annual Blood Drive on “Black Friday”, November 24th after Thanksgiving in the Corpus Christi Gym. The drive will be held from 2 to 7 PM. Details explaining how to sign up for an appointment will be provided soon. The donation is very easy, takes about an hour of your time, and makes a clear impact on the recipient. ANNUAL NATIVITY ADVENT CALENDAR, GREETING CARDS, AND “KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS” CAR MAGNET SALE – Plan now to “Keep Christ in Christmas” in your family’s home this holiday season by supporting the Knights of Columbus Council #9715 Annual Nativity Advent Calendars and Christmas Cards Sale. Both will be sold in the Church Narthex after Weekend Masses beginning on November 11th until supplies run out. Calendar choices are with chocolate, with stickers or with a mailing envelope and are each $7. Cards will be sold in Boxes of 15 for $10.

Proceeds earned from this fundraiser will benefit the school children of our Sister Parish, Visitation of the B.V.M. in the Kensington Section of Philadelphia.
