Corpus Christi Swim Team – Registration Open
- Register at https://corpus-christi-cyo.siplay.com/site/ . Registration opens Aug 5th and closes Aug 19th. The CYO fee is $110 and if you are not a member of the YMCA, you will need to purchase a $50 membership for each swimmer when practices begin (info will be provided). The year-end Championship meet has a $5 per event fee.
- Our team participates in the Catholic Youth Swim League (CYSL) which includes 16 parishes in Bucks, Montgomery and NE Philly. The CYSL has over 1,100 swimmers and has existed for over 40 years. For more info see https://catholicyouthswimleague.com/
- The season runs from October through February/early March.
- Children are eligible to participate in grades K through 9.
- Our swim team has grown significantly over the last two years to 80 swimmers and because of limited space in our practice pools, we have had to revise our eligibility requirements. The following is the order in which priority will be given for registration, (1) families with children that were members of the swim team last year, (2) new families to swim team from Corpus Christi parish, (3) new families to swim team from St. Stans, St. Rose and St. Maria Goretti parishes. For new families there is also the potential that some age groups might be filled-up. Families with a parent volunteering to coach will be given special priority. Everyone will be placed on the waiting list when you register on SportsSignup and then emails will be sent within two weeks of registration closing, notifying you if a spot is available. You will then need to complete your registration in SportsSignup.
- Practices are held at the Lansdale YMCA on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7-8:45pm. The younger swimmers will practice from 7-7:45 with the older swimmers practicing from 7:45-8:45pm.
- There are 7 dual meets and an individual Championship meet. All meets are held on Saturday or Sunday. In the past the meets were held at the Lansdale YMCA, St. Joes University or NEPSCA (across from Archbishop Ryan HS). The CYSL Individual Championship Meet was held at Upper Dublin High School last year.
- Age Groups: 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, 15U. 6U swims with 8U during dual meets but is its own age group in the individual Championship meet.
- All 4 strokes (Freestyle, Breast, Butterfly and Back) are taught and all levels of swimmers are welcome. For all new swimmers, there will be a swim test that is required for you to be on the team.
- Swim meets require many volunteers, so each family is required to have a parent volunteer to work 4 meets. Meet volunteer signups will be available by the end of September once the meet schedule is set.
