SAFE ENVIRONMENT CLEARANCES FOR VOLUNTEERS
Volunteer Instructions for Obtaining Required Background Checks and Completing Archdiocesan Training
Background Checks (Expire every 5 years and must be renewed):
1. PA State Police Criminal Record Check
Can be obtained online at https://epatch.pa.gov/home. Receive results online within a few minutes. The cost is waived for volunteers.
2. PA Department of Human Services Child Abuse History Clearance
Can be obtained online at https://www.compass.state.pa.us/cwis/public/home. Results will be emailed to you within 14 days. The cost is waived for volunteers.
3. Directions for obtaining fingerprints (ONLY IF YOU HAVE NOT LIVED CONTINUOUSLY IN PA FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS)*

-Service Code for registering: 1KG6ZJ is the code for Pennsylvania Department of Education Volunteers
-For fingerprint locations please visit the following website: https://www.identogo.com/locations/pennsylvania
– The cost is $23.85
*If you have lived in Pa continuously for 10 years you can complete a Disclosure Statement in place of the fingerprints. The application is found at
http://www.keepkidssafe.pa.gov/cs/groups/webcontent/documents/document/c_160267.pdf. This form does not have to be notarized, only signed by a person 18 years or older who can witness that you signed the form.
Archdiocesan Safe Environment Training (Does Not Expire):
1. Attendance at “Protecting God’s Children, Awareness Sessions for Adults”
Go to www.Virtusonline.org to register for a session. After you have attended, the Archdiocese will e-mail a “Certificate of Training Attendance” to you. Please forward BOTH the “Ministerial Behavior and Boundaries” form you signed at the class and this certificate to the School/Parish office.
2. Mandated Reported Training
Go to www.childyouthprotection.org, click on Staff and Volunteers, select Required Training, Scroll down to Mandated Reporter Online Component, and then ‘click here’. Register for the class then take the on-line quiz. You will receive a confirmation by email from the Archdiocese that you took this training along with a “Certificate of Completion”. Please forward a copy of this certificate to the School/Parish office.
All copies of Clearances, Ministerial Behavior & Boundaries and the 2 Certificates of Training must be received by the Corpus Christi Catholic School Office / The Parish Office BEFORE you will be cleared to volunteer.
