Local Knight of Columbus Council Receives Top International Award

Knights of Columbus Council #9715 serving Corpus Christi and St. Rose of Lima parishes has earned the distinction of Star Council, one of the organizations top awards. The award recognizes overall excellence in the area of membership recruitment and retention, promotion of the fraternal insurance program and sponsorship of service oriented activities.
“Receiving the Star Council Award is quite an honor for us. We’re extremely proud of this accomplishment,” announced Council 9715 Grand Knight Richard Ray.
The Knight of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic lay organization. It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Church and their communities. With more than 1.8 million members in over 15,000 councils around the world, the Knights of Columbus annually donates more than $170 million and 70 Million hours of service to charitable causes.

Forty Hours – Nov. 15 – 17

Our annual Forty Hours Devotion will be held on Sunday, November 15th to Tuesday, November 17th. Fr. James DeGrassa will be the preacher on Monday and Tuesday evening at 7:30PM.
The schedule is as follows:
Sunday, November 15th: Adoration after 11:30 Mass until 5:45PM followed by the 6PM Mass
Monday, November 16th: 7:15AM Mass; Adoration all day; 7:30PM Benediction, followed by Fr. James DeGrassa
Tuesday, November 17th: 7:15AM Mass; Adoration all day; 7:30PM Benediction, followed by Fr. James DeGrassa
Care Packages for Troops

Beginning November 14th and for the next few weekends through November 28th, inclusively, The Knights of Columbus will be distributing all materials for care packages for our soldiers.
They will be available in the narthex at the Knights of Columbus table. Please consider putting together a care package. You will be responsible for cost the contents of the package and the shipping costs.
All packages must be mailed from your post office by December 3rd. Thank you in advance for thinking of our troops overseas!
