Scouting for Food Results

2019_Scouting_for_Food
Over fifty Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, parents and leaders from Pack and Troop 303, sponsored by Corpus Christi Parish, in Upper Gwynedd, gave up their Saturday morning on November 16, 2019, to collect food donations in the annual Scouting for Food collection.

Thanks to the generosity of our neighbors, the Scouts collected substantially more food and other items than in 2018. The food collection was donated to Norristown’s Patrician Society, a long-time ministry of Corpus Christi Parish, the chartering organization for both the Pack and the Troop.

To become a Scout or leader in Pack or Troop 303, please contact Joe Rakszawski at joerak@aol.com.

Eagle Scouts Ray and Will Gomez

Gomez_EaglesRay and Will Gomez recently became the 59th and 60th Eagle Scouts from Boy Scout Troop 303, sponsored by Corpus Christi Parish.

The Eagle rank, as described by the Boy Scouts of America, is” a milestone of accomplishment—perhaps without equal—that is recognized across the country and even the world”.

Ray Gomez led an Eagle Scout project to build a garden for The Timothy School, the oldest non-profit approved private school in Pennsylvania devoted exclusively to teaching students with autism. Ray’s uncle, the late John Paul Gomez, had been a teacher’s aide at The Timothy School.

Will Gomez led a project to build a crushed stone path around the pond in the Prayer Garden at Corpus Christi Church.

Ray’s project was supported by 151 hours of service by 30 volunteers, and Will’s project was supported by 235 hours of service by42 volunteers.

Ray and Will are both graduates of Corpus Christi School, and students at LaSalle College High School.
